Our companions and personal caregivers come from various backgrounds and many have cared for their own parents and want to help others. Some work in the health care field and enjoy working one-on-one with our clients. All of our companions and personal caregivers truly treasure the personal satisfaction that comes from helping others. Our companions and personal caregivers are thoroughly screened before they can become employees of Senior Helpers and each has the opportunity to participate in the Senior Helpers University program to attain their Senior Helpers Certified status. Training
We have developed a first-rate training program called Senior Helpers University. We believe quality and consistent training for our companions and personal caregivers will enhance their job performance, help them deliver outstanding care, and ultimately lead to an exceptional customer experience for our clients.
All of our companions and personal caregivers have the opportunity to participate in our continual learning program and receive credits towards the Senior Helpers Certification – which is awarded after attaining a certain amount of credits. For those in the program, they are required to complete a minimum of 8 training modules per year on a variety of topics such as:
- Understanding Fall Risk Factors
- Food Preparation and Safety
- Understanding Alzheimer's and Dementia
